In 2014 after graduating from the University of Edinburgh – Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Medicine (MSc Equine Science) my passion for education, learning and research have been re-ignited. I decided to take a new path and leave the corporate world to head back to school full time in pursuit of my passion for rehabilitating animals and equids. Since 2004 I started working as Realtor with Sutton Group – West Coast Realty in Vancouver, British Columbia. After gaining the necessary experience joined the luxury real estate house of Sotheby’s International Realty Canada. Although financial success is very comfortable I was not doing what I was passionate about. During my dissertation year of the MSc program I realized that I needed to be part of the global research community as a full-time endeavor. In order for my contribution to have merit, I believe pursuing a Ph.D. was the next step.
Now, three years later I am in my second year of a Ph.D. program at the University of Surrey School of Veterinary Medicine in Guildford, United Kingdom. My research area focuses on the biomechanics of standing posture and gait asymmetry and how it is influenced by therapeutical approaches in equine neuro/musculoskeletal rehabilitation.
